This current body of work focuses on my personal experience of sexual assault and emotional manipulation, alongside the struggle of navigating the world with an altered perspective based on those experiences. Through the use of bright, child-like imagery and pop-art inspired illustrations, I seek to rekindle a connection with a more youthful and innocent time. The figure is a vehicle to establish a physical connection between the viewer and characters within the work.

Through my use of plywood and fabrication techniques, my works are modular in nature. They consist of numerous hand-cut parts in order to achieve dynamic and expressive compositions. A motif often used in my work is the use of hand-carved stamps to create colorful patterns that allude to nostalgia. Objects like sewing needles, eyeballs, and flowers are scattered throughout my wooden installations.

Through my art I aim to create a safe place of discussion for victims of assault, and to showcase individual narratives. I intend for people unfamiliar with sexual assault to gain a new level of understanding so that victims are given the attention they deserve.
